Perspective

Looking at your face,
I notice your dark eyes,
your tan skin,
your sharp cheekbones,
your plump lips,
your stubbled chin,
and your fine jaw.

You're too far
away from me,
so I pull you close
to examine you further.

Your eyelashes,
long and dark,
kiss every time you blink.
Your iris has folds
of brown, yellow, and green.
I see it tremble under my stare.
Your pupil is an eternal abyss
that I don't mind falling into.
I'm sucked in;
if I look close enough,
I can see myself in them.

Your flesh is elastic
and beautiful.
Smooth and taught
over your cheekbones.
Soft and pink
on your lips.
Harsh and prickly
across your jaw.

I'm not sure what I love more,
the full picture of you,
or the focused vision of each feature.

Closer,
I see the wondrous details of your guise.
The wear and tear,
The perfections and flaws,
The make up of you.

Far away,
I see the magnificent whole.
How the puzzle pieces
fit together
to create
the full picture
of your entire being.

I can't decide
my favorite,
so I kiss them all

When I first walked in a workshop
There were too many stories to swap
I couldn't share it all
but boy what a ball

Because people were talking nonstop

It's all “Greek” to me!
